Assessments
Ecostamps Assessments are a simple solution to two problems, one a necessity and the other a limitation.
Feedback is essential to the educational process. Apart from persistence, few things are as important to a writer's development.
Providing it, especially on the part of editors, is a limitation, specifically, finding the time to provide constructive feedback on, say, a couple thousand submissions.
Ecostamps Assessments successfully tackle both of these issues by enabling editors, with no more than a few clicks of a button, to provide a substantive evaluation of a submission.
Absolute ratings are given on a number of standard or editor-defined criteria. These ratings are also reported relative to the distribution of ratings across submissions in the category.
Assessments also include a number of other customizable tools that enable editors to create libraries of suggestions, rejection reasons, and customized letters to facilitate communication with authors.
While efficiency and ease-of-use are essential, we recognize that incentives are also important. That's why each Assessment on an Enhanced submission earns the editor's organization $1 to help defray operating costs and pay writers for their work.
Quid pro quo. Virtuous circle. Win-win. Reciprocal altruism.
Call it whatever you like. Ecostamps enables editors and writers to work together to achieve their mutual goal of creating, publishing, and perpetuating literature for this generation and the next.
