Leaf Storm LLC, a limited liability company domiciled in the Commonwealth of Virginia,
is the organization that produces and maintains ecostamps.org (the "Web site"), the Ecostamps
Submission Form (the "Form"), the Ecostamps for Editors console (the "Editors Console"), and
the Ecostamps for Writers console (the "Writers Console"). Collectively, the Editors Console
and Writers Console are referred to as the "Consoles" throughout this document. Collectively, the Web site,
Form, and Consoles are referred to as "Ecostamps" throughout this document.
This Privacy Policy details the information we collect from you when you visit Ecostamps,
how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. By using Ecostamps, you agree to the terms and
conditions of this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.
General
You can visit and enjoy our Web site without disclosing any personal information about yourself.
However, providing access to the Editors Console and Writers Console and using the Form
to submit work to an organization that has opened an Ecostamps for Editors account (a "Client")
requires that you to share with us
certain personal information about yourself. The personal information we collect may include,
but is not limited to, first and last name, mailing address, email address, and other information
(e.g., telephone number, mobile phone number, etc.). We may also collect other personal information that
will be identified on the applicable page(s) of Ecostamps. If you submit any personal
information to us, or to any third-party service providers acting on our behalf, you can be
assured that we will not sell, lease, or share your personal information with or to anyone
else, except as follows: (1) to our third-party service providers, and only so that they may
help provide the services you've requested and (2) upon notice posted on an applicable
location of Ecostamps where we collect your personal information for an economic transaction.
Information Automatically Collected.
At times, we may use automatic methods such as cookies
(small amounts of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to your
browser from Ecostamps' computers and stored on your computer's hard drive) and single-pixel GIF
images alone or in combination with personally identifiable information you choose to provide us,
to make Ecostamps work better, to understand Ecostamps usage and trends, to deliver a more personalized
experience, and to improve our content and offerings. Examples of the information we may collect and
analyze using such methods include, without limitation, the Internet protocol (IP) address used to
connect your computer to the Internet; email address; login name and password; type and version of
operating system and platform; the full Uniform Resource Locator (URL) clickstream to, on, and
from Ecostamps, including date and time; and cookie information. We may also use software tools to
measure and collect session information, including page response times, download errors, length
of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs),
and methods used to browse away from the page.
We may also use data and information collected through cookies and other means to enable you to use
a "shopping cart" if you want to purchase goods or services while on Ecostamps, and to offer
you products, programs, or services based on purchase and Web site usage behavior that you and/or
other customers have exhibited. If you do not want information collected through the use of cookies,
there is a simple procedure in most browsers that allows the user to accept or reject cookies.
If you set your browser not to accept cookies, you may not be able to take advantage of
or access certain services on Ecostamps.
We do not transfer cookies associated with Ecostamps to any other company,
nor do we authorize any other company to access the cookies we have may use.
We do not install any spyware or adware in connection with Ecostamps, or
distribute any commercial message, or authorize any third party to distribute any commercial message,
by means of spyware or adware. "Spyware" or "adware" is any software which has been downloaded to and/or
installed on an user's computer, without the user's consent, and facilitates the
distribution of a commercial message to the user. If you feel you may have spyware from another
company installed on your machine, there are various anti-spyware/adware software applications available
on the Internet to identify if this has occurred and to remedy the situation.
Credit card companies.
Credit card transactions are handled by a third-party financial
institution and its vendors which receive the credit card number and other personal identifying
information to verify the credit card numbers and process transactions.
Aggregated Demographic Information.
We may share aggregated demographic information with third
parties, but this information is not linked to any personal information that can identify you or another
individual person. Therefore, no personal information is disclosed in this manner.
Business Transfers.
As time passes, Ecostamps and/or Leaf Storm along with its
assets may be sold, or other transactions may occur in which customer information is one of the business
assets transferred. In such a case, the customer information that we have gathered may be one of the
business assets we transfer.
Disclosure for Legal Purposes.
The law requires that we may be required to share your personal
information and non-personal information (see "Cookies" section above for examples of non-personal information)
pursuant to judicial or governmental subpoenas, warrants, or orders. If we are required to do so, we will,
of course, obey the law. In addition, notwithstanding any term to the contrary in this Privacy Policy,
we reserve the right to use, disclose, and share your personal and non-personal information in order to
investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving
potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Ecostamps Terms of Use, or as otherwise required by law.
Our Security Practices
Your preferences are password protected for your privacy and security. In certain areas, such as
credit card transactions, we use industry-standard
SSL encryption to protect data transmissions.
How You Can Review Your Personal Information
If you want to review or revise the personal information you provided during registration, and
whether you want to receive communications from us, you can
click here to log in and select "Contact Info" on
the application menu and follow the instructions provided.
If you want to close your account with us and have us delete
the personal information in it (except for information that we keep for record-keeping purposes),
please send us a letter or postcard with your username and a brief statement indicating
you wish to close your account. With three (3) business days, we will contact you at the
phone number on file for your account and confirm that you wish to close the account.
Once you have confirmed your request, your account will be closed and your information
will be deleted from our databases.
Special Rules for Children
Ecostamps is a general audience site.
We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes of This Statement
We will occasionally update this privacy statement. When we do, we will also revise the "last updated" date at the
top of the privacy statement. For material changes to this statement, we will notify you by placing a notice
in a prominent location on www.ecostamps.org.
